| EMC Delivers Integrated Information Governance with New Solutions for Archiving, e-Discovery and Compliance |

Launched earlier this month by EMC, EMC SourceOneTM is a suite of archiving, e-discovery, and compliance tools aimed at helping companies centrally manage multiple content types.
EMC SourceOne enables customers to save more than 50 percent in total cost of ownership, achieve payback on the solution in as little as 12 months*, ensure compliance with internal governance policies and external industry regulations, and mitigate risks associated with e-discovery.
The EMC SourceOne family includes these products and solutions:
EMC SourceOne Email Management provides all core e-mail archiving capabilities in a single package
EMC SourceOne Discovery Manager provides discovery search and secure legal hold of e-mail found in EmailXtender 4.8 SP1 and EMC SourceOne Email Management archives
EMC SourceOne Discovery Collector automates in-house identification, collection, and preservation of unstructured content that resides on live data sources

| EMC Introduces the Newest Release of EMC Captiva ISIS PixTools |
|
EMC® Captiva® ISIS® PixTools® 8.3, released earlier this month, contains powerful ease-of-use and document capture enhancements for Captiva ISIS PixTools toolkits. By providing new features to support enterprise document and data capture solutions, this release enables software developers to further reduce investment costs and quickly bring to market compelling document capture applications and solutions.
Enhancements to ISIS/PixTools 8.3 include:
- Strong Microsoft alliance and support for Windows Server 2008, Microsoft Visual Studio 2008, .NET Framework 3.5, and WPF Controls
- Automatic hardware detection capabilities
- Scanner auto-detect feature includes functions that enable an application to automatically determine which scanners, and consequently which drivers, are available
- New PDF rendering algorithm to read third-party PDF files
- New image enhancing features
- Smoothing property that enhances the appearance of an image that is zoomed out, including color palette images
- New background dropout filter that can detect the background color of a scanned document and either drop it out or flatten it to a single shade while capturing all color information in the foreground
- Updated barcode recognition engine that includes Royal Post, Australian Post, and Intelligent Mail barcode types
- Foreign language support: ISIS PixTools has been localized for Russian and Brazilian Portuguese languages
- Blank page deletion detection enables detection and deletion of blank pages for a scanner driver
